Details:
On or about Sunday, November 7th, 2021, around 4:00 in the morning, a serious accident between an SUV and a tractor-trailer claimed the life of a 26-year-old Troy man. Officials from the SCHP said the accident was reported along Highway 121 in Edgefield County, South Carolina.
Police officers from the area said 26-year-old William Allen Turner III was killed when the Ford Edge SUV he was driving allegedly drifted over the center line of Highway 121 and collided with a tractor-trailer in the oncoming lanes. Emergency responders pronounced Turner dead of his injuries a short time after they arrived at the scene of the accident.
According to Google Maps, Highway 121 winds north and south through the northeast corner of Edgefield County, which is about 70 miles southwest of Columbia.
Officials are still investigating the incident.
