On or about Tuesday, August 24th, 2021, around 11:30 in the morning, a single-vehicle tractor-trailer accident claimed the life of a 65-year-old Lamesa man. Troopers from the Department of Public Safety said the accident occurred along FM 846 near Big Spring in Howard County, Texas.

Texas DPS representatives said 65-year-old William Brandon was killed when the tractor-trailer he was driving allegedly veered off the side of the road and rolled on Farm-to-Market 846. Emergency responders pronounced Brandon dead of his injuries a short time after the accident. Authorities did not mention any other vehicles in their statement on the accident.

According to Google Maps, FM 846 runs east and west through Howard County, with the scene of the accident about 17 miles north of Big Spring.

Police are still examining the circumstances surrounding the accident.
