On or about Thursday, October 21st, 2021, around 2:30 in the afternoon, an accident between a pickup truck and a tractor-trailer left a 59-year-old man dead and sent an 86-year-old man to the hospital. Officials from the VSP said the accident was reported at the intersection of Route 460 and Pamplin Road in Prince Edward County, Virginia.

Authorities said 59-year-old William Andrews Jr. was killed and 86-year-old William W. Clark was injured when the pickup truck they were riding in was allegedly hit by a tractor-trailer as they were attempting to turn at Route 460 and Pamplin Road. Andrews Jr. was pronounced dead of his injuries after the collision, while Clark was rushed to a nearby hospital with serious injuries.

According to Google Maps, Prince Edward County is about 71 miles southwest of downtown Richmond.

Police are still trying to determine the cause of the accident.
