On or about Sunday, April 17th, 2022, around 3:15 in the afternoon, a serious boating accident left one person dead and sent a woman to the hospital. Officials from the area said the accident was reported along Little Cypress Bayou in Port Arthur, Texas.
Officials from the Texas Department of Public Safety said 44-year-old William Davis was killed and 39-year-old Ladonna Gilmore was injured when the boat they were in allegedly crashed into a bridge pillar on Little Cypress Bayou. Davis was pronounced dead when he was pulled from the water, while Gilmore was rushed to the hospital with unspecified injuries.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is about 89 miles east of downtown Houston.
Officials are still investigating.
