On or about Tuesday, August 24th, 2021, around 9:36 in the morning, an accident between a dump truck and a motorcycle claimed the life of a 34-year-old man. Troopers from the KSP said the accident was reported along State Avenue in Tonganoxie, Kansas.
Authorities from the Kansas State Police said 34-year-old William Guthrie was killed when a dump truck allegedly attempted a U-turn and struck his motorcycle. Emergency responders rushed Guthrie to University of Kansas Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries a short time after the accident.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is situated on the east side of Tonganoxie, which is about 30 miles west of Kansas City, Missouri.
Deputies from the Leavenworth County Sheriff’s Office assisted at the scene.
