On or about Friday, January 28th, 2022, around 6:45 in the morning, a hit-and-run accident between a passenger vehicle and a man in a wheelchair left one person dead. Deputies from the Tarrant County Sheriff’s Department said the accident was reported at the intersection of East Seminary Drive and Evans Avenue in Fort Worth, Texas.

Investigators said William John Wayne Russell was killed when he was allegedly hit by a vehicle as he was near or making an attempt to cross the lanes of traffic at East Seminary Drive and Evans Avenue. After the initial accident, the vehicle fled the scene. Paramedics pronounced Russell dead of his injuries a short time after they responded to the accident.

According to Google Maps, the intersection of East Seminary Drive and Evans Avenue is on the south side of Fort Worth.

Officials are still trying to track down the driver and car that fled the scene.
