On or about Monday, November 9th, 2020, around 9:00 in the morning, an accident between a pedestrian and a tractor-trailer claimed the life of an 86-year-old man. New York State Police said the accident happened along East Genesee Street in Skaneateles, New York.
Investigators said 86-year-old William F. Lynn was killed when he was hit by a tractor-trailer when he was walking along or trying to cross the road. Paramedics pronounced Lynn dead a short time after the accident. Police identified the driver of the truck as 70-year-old Michael Shores, who was unhurt in the accident.
Google Streetview shows East Genesee Street is two lanes that run east and west through the area. Skaneateles is located about 69 miles southeast of Rochester.
Officials from the New York State Police are assisting local law enforcement with the investigation.
