On or about Monday, December 14th, 2020, around 1:30 in the afternoon, an accident between a pickup truck and a tractor-trailer claimed the life of a 39-year-old Poplarville man. Authorities said the accident happened on Interstate 59 in Pearl River County, Mississippi.
Deputies from the Sheriff’s Department said 39-year-old William McCardle was killed when his pickup truck allegedly collided with the back of a tractor-trailer that was stopped in traffic. Paramedics pronounced McCardle dead of his injuries a short time after they responded to the scene of the accident.
No other injuries were mentioned by police in their preliminary statement.
Local law enforcement assisted Troopers from the Mississippi State Highway Patrol at the scene of the crash.
