Details:
On or about Tuesday, March 8th, 2022, around 7:39 at night, an alleged DUI accident between a tractor-trailer and a passenger vehicle sent three people to the hospital. Representatives from the CHP said the accident was reported along Highway 101 just outside Los Alamos, California.
Troopers from the California Highway Patrol said 44-yer-old William Platte was injured when a commercial truck allegedly struck his vehicle head-on while driving the wrong direction on Highway 101. Paramedics transported Platte to a nearby hospital with unknown injuries after the accident. Authorities identified the driver of the truck as 32-year-old Christopher Moreno, who was taken to the hospital along with his passenger, 31-year-old Cody Serrato with unspecified injuries stemming from the collision.
Police have since arrested Moreno on suspicion of Driving While Intoxicated.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is between Los Alamos and Buellton.
Officials are still investigating the cause of the accident.
