On or about Wednesday, March 24th, 2021, around 8:00 in the evening, an accident between a pedestrian and a tractor-trailer left a 60-year-old man dead. Authorities from the ALEA said the accident happened in the 6400 block of Mobile Highway in Montgomery, Alabama.
Deputies from the Sheriff’s Office said 60-year-old William Young was killed when he was allegedly struck by a passing tractor-trailer. Officials did not say where Young was standing at the time of the accident. First responders pronounced Young dead at the scene a short time after they arrived. Police did not mention any other vehicles in their preliminary statement.
According to Google Maps, the 6400 block of Mobile Highway is situated on the southern edge of Montgomery.
Police hope to release the findings of their investigation as soon as they become available.
