Details:
On or about Thursday, October 15th, 2020, around 8:45 in the morning, a tractor-trailer accident with a cyclist claimed the life of a 30-year-old woman from Navarre. The accident took place in the northbound lanes of Highway 87 in Santa Rosa County, Florida.
Deputies from the Sheriff’s Office have said that a 30-year-old woman was killed when she was hit by a semi truck after she allegedly lost control while riding her bike in the northbound lanes. First responders rushed the woman to Santa Rosa Medical Center where she succumbed to her injuries a short time after her arrival.
Inspecting the scene of the accident on Google Maps shows that Highway 87 is a four lane major roadway with a wide, grassy median dividing the north and southbound lanes. Santa Rosa County is just east of Pensacola.
FHP Troopers and local police are investigating.
