On or about Monday, December 21st, 2020, around 4:45 in the morning, an accident between a tanker truck and two other vehicles sent a 29-year-old woman to the hospital. Troopers from the LSP said the accident happened on the southbound side of Interstate 49 near Powhatan in Natchitoches Parish, Louisiana.
Authorities said an as-of-yet unidentified 29-year-old woman was injured when two cars and a tanker truck collided under unknown circumstances in the southbound lanes. Paramedics transported the woman to Ochsner LSU Health Hospital with unknown injuries.
Google Streetview shows Interstate 49 is four lanes in the area, with a wide, grassy median dividing north and southbound traffic. Powhatan is located about 67 miles south of Shreveport.
Multiple agencies responded to the scene to assist in the investigation.
