Details:
On or about Sunday, October 25th, 2020, around 10:00 at night, an accident between a pedestrian and a tractor-trailer left a woman dead. Troopers said the accident happened in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 20 near the exchange with Panola Road in Dekalb County, Georgia.
Authorities indicated that an as-of-yet unidentified woman was killed when she was allegedly hit by an 18-wheeler after she stepped out of her vehicle following a previous accident. Paramedics pronounced the woman dead of her injuries after the crash.
Officials believe the first accident was the result of a shooting, and found one person suffered from a gunshot wound in one of the cars.
Looking at Interstate 20 on Google Maps shows an 8 lane major highway with a concrete barrier dividing east and westbound traffic. The stretch of road where the accident took place is located on the eastern side of Atlanta.
Multiple agencies are assisting in the accident investigation.
