Details:
On or about Thursday, March 18th, 2021, around 12:45 in the afternoon, an accident between an 18-wheeler and a stalled car left a 34-year-old woman dead. Troopers from the ISP said the accident was reported on the eastbound side of Interstate 70 in Madison County, Illinois.
Illinois State Police representatives said a 34-year-old woman was killed when her car was allegedly struck from behind by a tractor-trailer while she was stalled in the right lane of the interstate. Paramedics pronounced the woman dead of her injuries at the scene of the accident. Two people in the tractor-trailer were uninjured in the collision.
According to Google Maps, Interstate 70 cuts through Madison County, which is just northeast of St. Louis.
State and local law enforcement agencies are investigating the crash at this time.
