On or about Saturday, March 12th, 2022, around 11:30 in the morning, a major accident between two pickup trucks and a tractor-trailer left an 18-year-old dead. Troopers from the WSP said the accident was reported at or near the intersection of Highway 85 and Road 144 in Laramie County, Wyoming.

Investigators from the Wyoming Highway Patrol said 18-year-old Wyatt Butler was killed when the Dodge Dakota pickup truck he was driving allegedly collided with a Ford F-150 and a tractor-trailer that had stopped in the roadway for unknown reasons. Emergency responders pronounced Butler dead a short time after the collision, but it is not immediately clear if they died at the scene, or if he was rushed to a nearby hospital where he succumbed to his injuries a short time after his arrival. Officials did not mention any other injuries stemming from the accident.

According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is situated in rural Laramie County.

Police are still examining the factors that may have contributed to the accident.
