Details:
On or about Friday, May 6th, 2022, around 4:45 in the afternoon, an accident between a tractor-trailer and a passenger vehicle left an Ohio man dead. Representatives from the Department of Public Safety said the accident was reported along Interstate 40 in Carson County, Texas.
Troopers from the Texas DPS said 29-year-old Xavier McKenzie was killed when the vehicle he was driving was allegedly rear-ended by a tractor-trailer while he was driving down I-40. Emergency responders pronounced McKenzie dead of his injuries after the accident, but it is not immediately clear if he died at the scene, or if he was rushed to a nearby hospital where he succumbed to his injuries a short time after his arrival.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is about 5 miles east of Groom.
Police are still investigating the cause of the collision.
