On or about Tuesday, June 28th, 2022, around 5:00 in the afternoon, an accident between a tractor-trailer and an SUV sent a 20-year-old woman to the hospital. Representatives from the ISP said the accident was reported along Highway 10 in Hawarden, Iowa.
Law enforcement representatives from the Sioux County Sheriff’s Department said 20-year-old Yazmin Topete was injured when the SUV she was driving was allegedly hit by a tractor-trailer that may have rolled off a stop. Paramedics rushed Topete to a nearby hospital with injuries of an unspecified nature or severity stemming from the accident.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is at the intersection with Coolidge Avenue.
Officials are still examining the cause of the accident.
