On or about Sunday, October 3rd, 2021, around 2:19 in the morning, an accident with a box truck and two other vehicles left one person dead and sent three others to the hospital. Troopers from the CHP said the accident was reported along the northbound side of Highway 99 in Fresno County, California.

Officials said 31-year-old Yingyathaij Lee was killed and three other people were injured when a box truck allegedly crashed into a car that was helping at the scene of a previous accident. After the initial collision, the box truck rolled off the side of the roadway. Lee was pronounced dead a short time after the accident, while three other people were taken to the hospital with unspecified injuries.

According to Google Maps, Highway 99 cuts north and south through the center of Fresno.

State and local law enforcement agencies assisted at the scene.
