On or about Friday, January 22nd, 2021, around 1:40 in the morning, an accident between a pedestrian and a dump truck left a woman dead. Police spokespeople said the accident happened in the 6300 block of Airline Highway in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
Investigators said 45-year-old Yolanda Franklin was killed when she was allegedly hit by a dump truck while walking on or near Arline Highway. Paramedics pronounced Franklin dead of his injuries a short time after the accident. Police did not mention any other vehicles in their preliminary report.
Google Maps indicates Airline Highway is four lanes in the area, with a wide, grassy median dividing north and southbound traffic.
Louisiana State Police are still investigating the accident.
