Details:
On or about Thursday, December 9th, 2021, sometime in the evening hours, a hit-and-run car accident between a passenger vehicle and a pedestrian claimed the life of a 34-year-old man. Spokespeople from the Department of Public Safety said the accident was reported along Highway 173 just outside Kerrville in Kerr County, Texas.
Police from the area said 34-year-old Yonathan Michael Tessema was killed when she was allegedly struck by a vehicle as she was walking alongside or made an attempt to cross the lanes of Highway 173. The vehicle that struck Tessema subsequently fled the scene of the accident. Emergency responders pronounced Tessema dead of his injuries when his body was found several hours after the accident.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is about three miles south of Kerrville, which is about 66 miles northwest of San Antonio.
Texas DPS is assisted in the accident investigation.
