Details:
On or about Tuesday, December 15th, 2020, around 11:00 in the morning, an accident between three tractor-trailers left a 24-year-old man dead and a 22-year-old woman injured. State Troopers said the accident happened in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 70 in Eaton, Ohio.
Deputies from the Preble County Sheriff’s Office said 24-year-old Zachary Ryback was driving an 18-wheeler allegedly struck the back of another tractor-trailer. A third tractor-trailer was also ensnared in the accident. Paramedics pronounced Ryback dead at the scene. A 22-year-old female passenger in Ryback’s truck was taken to the Kettering Medical Center with unspecified injuries.
Google Maps shows Interstate 70 is four lanes in the area, with a grassy median dividing the east and westbound lanes. Eaton is located about 25 miles west of Dayton.
Ohio State Highway Patrol is still investigating the crash.
