On or about Saturday, May 21st, 2022, around 5:00 in the afternoon, an accident between a passenger vehicle and a teenager on a bicycle left one person dead. Local law enforcement officials said the accident was reported along 50th Street in Lubbock, Texas.
Authorities from the Lubbock County Sheriff’s Office said 14-year-old Zakodi White was killed when he was allegedly hit by a vehicle while he was riding his bike alongside or across 50th Street. Emergency responders rushed White to a nearby hospital where he succumbed to his injuries a short time after his arrival.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is not far from the exchange with Avenue S.
Officials are still working to pin down all the factors that may have contributed to the accident.
