Details:
On or about Wednesday, May 4th, 2022, sometime in the morning hours, a major accident between a fuel truck and a passenger vehicle left a 22-year-old man dead. Troopers from the Department of Public Safety said the accident was reported along University Boulevard in Tyler, Texas.
Representatives from the Texas DPS said 22-year-old Daron Ellis was killed when the vehicle he was driving allegedly slammed into the back of a fuel truck along University Boulevard. After the initial accident, the passenger vehicle drove off the side of the roadway and rolled. Emergency responders pronounced Ellis dead of the injuries he sustained when he was ejected from the vehicle in the collision. The driver of the fuel truck was uninjured in the accident.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the crash is a short distance from the intersection with Old Omen Road.
Police are still looking into the cause of the accident.
