On or about Tuesday, May 31st, 2022, around 1:30 in the afternoon, a serious accident between a passenger vehicle and a pedestrian sent a 26-year-old man to the hospital. Authorities from the Lubbock County Sheriff’s Office said the accident was reported along the Marsha Sharp Freeway in Lubbock, Texas.
Officers from the Lubbock Police Department said 25-year-old Johnathon Lopez was injured when he was allegedly hit by a passing vehicle as he was walking alongside or made an attempt to cross the Marsha Sharp Freeway. Paramedics transported Lopez to University Medical Center to be treated for injuries of an unspecified nature or severity.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is not far from the exchange with University Avenue.
Police are still investigating the incident.
