On or about Thursday, June 9th, 2022, around 8:00 in the morning, a major accident between a delivery truck or tractor-trailer and a cyclist left a 3-year-old child dead and sent a woman to the hospital. Deputies from the Cook County Sheriff’s Office said the accident was reported along West Leland Avenue in Chicago, Illinois.
Authorities from the Illinois State Police said an as-of-yet unidentified 3-year-old girl was killed and a woman was injured when a delivery truck or tractor-trailer allegedly struck them as the woman was making her way between the trucks. Emergency responders pronounced the child dead a short time after the accident, while the woman was rushed to the hospital with unknown injuries.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is situated in Uptown.
Police are still investigating.
