On or about Wednesday, November 11th, 2020, around 3:00 in the afternoon, an accident between a pickup and a tractor-trailer claimed the life of a 69-year-old man. Law enforcement spokespeople said the accident happened at the intersection of Central Avenue West and 14th Street in Great Falls, Montana.
Great Falls Police said 69-year-old Carl Clayton Parsons was killed when his Ford Ranger pickup truck was allegedly hit broadside by a tractor-trailer that was traveling westbound on Central Avenue West. Authorities said Parsons was making a left turn at the intersection when he was hit.
Emergency responders cut Parsons from the wreckage and rushed him to Benefis Hospital where he died a short time after his arrival. Police did not mention any other injuries.
Looking at the intersection on Google Maps shows Central Avenue West is four lanes that run east and west, while 14th Street is two lanes that run north and south. The intersection is controlled by a stoplight. The intersection is located a short distance east of downtown Great Falls.
The investigation into the accident is still active and ongoing.
