On Tuesday morning, December 3, 2024, Gerardo Reyes Gonzalez Angeles was travelling north on Farm to Market Road 1015 by bicycle when a Ford E-450 Box Truck, also travelling north, struck him from behind. Angeles was knocked from his bike onto the road, sustaining major injuries, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety. He was taken to Knapp Medical Center where he would later be pronounced dead.

The DPS is investigation the situation, and has yet to release the name of the box truck driver.
