On or about Tuesday, January 12th, 2021, around 1:10 in the afternoon, an accident between a tractor-trailer and an SUV sent at least one person to the hospital. Department of Transportation officials said the accident was reported on Route 33 at the exchange with Interstate 78 in Lower Saucon Township, Pennsylvania.
Troopers from the Pennsylvania State Police said at least one person was injured when a tractor-trailer allegedly rolled onto a Honda CRV in the northbound lanes of Route 33. Paramedics transported at least one person from the scene to a nearby hospital with unknown injuries. Authorities did not clarify if the victims were in the truck or the Honda.
Lower Saucon Township is located just a few miles west of Allentown, according to Google Maps.
Department of Transportation representatives closed all the northbound lanes of traffic for several hours to tend to the scene of the incident.
