On or about Wednesday, January 13th, 2021, around 7:00 in the morning, a multi-vehicle accident with an 18-wheeler sent several people to the hospital. Troopers from the FHP said the accident happened on the southbound side of the Florida’s Turnpike near 106th Street in Miami-Dade, Florida.
Law enforcement spokespeople said the accident happened when a tractor-trailer and three other vehicles collided under unknown circumstances, causing the tractor-trailer to roll off the roadway. The truck driver, and an unspecified number of people sustained unknown injuries in the crash.
Authorities closed all the southbound lanes of the Turnpike to tend to the scene of the accident. According to Google Maps, the accident happened on the northwest side of Miami.
Florida Highway Patrol and local police are investigating the accident.
