Details:
On or about Wednesday, January 20th, 2021, around 1:26 in the afternoon, an accident between an SUV and a dump truck left two people dead and sent a child to the hospital. Representatives from the OSHP said the accident happened along State Route 49 just outside Greenville in Darke County, Ohio.
Authorities said two people were killed when the Chevrolet Equinox they were in was allegedly hit head-on by a dump truck that veered over the center line of the roadway. The driver and front seat passenger in the Equinox died of their injuries at the scene. Paramedics transported a toddler in the backseat and the truck driver to the hospital with unspecified injuries.
According to Google Maps the accident happened just a few miles south of the Greenville city limits.
Multiple agencies responded to the scene to aid in the investigation.
