On or about Tuesday, March 9th, 2021, around 9:42 in the morning, an accident between a dump truck and a tractor-trailer sent two people to the hospital. Deputies from the Sheriff’s Office said the accident happened along Interstate 464 near Interstate 64 in Chesapeake, Virginia.
Troopers from the Virginia State Police said a tractor-trailer allegedly collided with a dump truck that had broken down in the roadway. One of the trucks burst into flames following the collision. Officials said one of the truck drivers was ejected during the crash. Paramedics transported two people to a nearby hospital with unspecified injuries.
Virginia Department of Transportation Officials closed several north and southbound lanes of Interstate 464 in order to clear the scene, which took several hours.
Police are still investigating.
