On or about Thursday, March 18th, 2021, around 7:00 in the morning, a hit-and-run accident between a pickup truck and an 18-wheeler left one man dead. State Troopers said the accident happened along Langford Road in Blythewood, South Carolina.
Deputies from the County Sheriff’s Department said one as-of-yet unidentified individual was killed when a tractor-trailer allegedly struck a pickup truck while attempting a U-turn on Langford Road. The driver of the pickup truck died of their injuries a short time after being rushed to a nearby hospital.
The tractor-trailer allegedly fled the scene but was later tracked down by police. The truck driver currently faces charges of leaving the scene in connection with the accident.
Multiple agencies are assisting in the accident investigation at this time.
