On or about Sunday, April 18th, 2021, around 8:00 in the morning, an accident between an SUV and a tractor-trailer left one woman dead and sent another to the hospital. Deputies from the Sheriff’s Office said the accident happened along Highway 96 in Jasper County, Texas.
Law enforcement officials said 33-year-old Colby Danielle Gates was killed and 32-year-old Dianna Fuller was injured when the SUV they were in allegedly crossed over the center line of the highway and struck a tractor-trailer in the oncoming lanes. Gates died of her injuries after the crash, while Fuller was rushed to the hospital with serious injuries.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is in northern Jasper County, which is about 134 miles northwest of Houston.
Texas DPS and local police assisted at the scene.
