Details:
On or about Tuesday, June 29th, 2021, around 11:00 in the morning, an accident involving a work truck left one individual dead. Deputies from the Travis County Sheriff’s Office said the accident was reported along Highway 71 near the intersection with Highway 183 in Austin, Texas.
Troopers from the Department of Public Safety said one as-of-yet unidentified person was killed after they allegedly exited a work truck that dumped a portion of mulch in the roadway and was allegedly struck by a passing car. Emergency responders pronounced the victim dead of his injuries a short time after the accident. Police did not mention any other injuries in their initial statement on the accident.
According to Google Maps, the exchange of Highway 71 and Highway 183 is a short distance southeast of downtown Austin, near Austin Bergstrom International Airport.
