Details:
On or about Thursday, July 15th, 2021, around 11:30 at night, an accident between a tractor-trailer and a tow truck left one man dead and sent another man to the hospital. Troopers from the KSP said the accident occurred on Interstate 71/75 just outside Walton in Boone County, Kentucky.
Authorities from the area said David Matthews Jr was killed when the tow truck he was in allegedly hit the back of a tractor-trailer while driving down Interstate 71/75. Matthews was ejected from the truck in the accident and died of his injuries at the scene of the accident. Paramedics transported the driver of the tow truck to a nearby hospital with unknown injuries stemming from the incident.
According to Google Maps. Interstate 71/75 runs north and south through Boone County, with the scene of the accident not far from the Walton city limits.
Police hope to release the findings of their investigation at a later date.
