Details:
On or about Thursday, July 29th, 2021, around 3:51 in the morning, a single-vehicle tractor-trailer accident left one man dead and sent another to the hospital. Troopers from the PSP said the accident occurred along the Pennsylvania Turnpike just outside Donegal, Pennsylvania.
Authorities from the area said 48-year-old Amadou Alassane was killed and 30-year-old Assata Mbodj was hurt when the tractor-trailer they were in allegedly drove off the side of the Pennsylvania Turnpike and rolled a short distance off the pavement. Alassane was ejected from the vehicle in the crash and died of his injuries at the scene of the accident. Emergency responders rushed Mbodj to a nearby hospital with unknown injuries.
According to Google Maps, the Pennsylvania Turnpike runs east and west along the southern edge of Donegal, which is situated about 49 miles southeast of Pittsburgh.
Police are still investigating.
