On or about Saturday, August 21st, 2021, around 1:58 in the afternoon, an accident between a pickup truck towing a trailer and a motorcycle claimed the life of a 50-year-old man. Troopers from the DPS said the accident occurred along the westbound side of FM 1910 in Cherokee County, Texas.
According to police, 50-year-old David May was killed when his motorcycle was allegedly hit by a pickup truck towing a trailer that pulled out of a private driveway just off FM 1910. May was transported by paramedics to UT-Health East Texas where he succumbed to his injuries the day after his arrival. Officials identified the driver of the pickup towing the trailer as 71-year-old Rickie Sorrell, who was unhurt in the accidnet.
According to Google Maps, FM 1910 runs east and west through Cherokee County, with the scene of the accident about seven miles south of Jacksonville.
Police are still investigating the accident.
