Details:
On or about Tuesday, August 24th, 2021, around 9:41 in the morning, an accident between a box truck and a cyclist left a 79-year-old man dead. Investigators said the accident was reported at the intersection of Tiffin Avenue and Factory Street in Findlay, Ohio.
Authorities said 79-year-old Michael C. Lafferty was killed when he was allegedly struck by a box truck while he was riding at or near the intersection of Factory Street and Tiffin Avenue. Paramedics rushed Lafferty to Blanchard Valley Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries a short time after his arrival. Police did not mention any other vehicles in their statement.
According to Google Maps, Findlay is about 96 miles north of Columbus.
Police did not release the name of the box truck driver.
