On or about Wednesday, September 1st, 2021, around 6:20 in the morning, an accident between a pickup truck and a farm tractor claimed the life of a Louisiana man, and sent a Mt. Pleasant resident to the hospital. Authorities from the Department of Public Safety said the accident was reported along Highway 271 in Titus County, Texas.
Troopers from the DPS said 38-year-old Anthony Hale from Pioneer, Louisiana was killed when his pickup truck allegedly collided with a farm tractor in the northbound lanes of Highway 271. Paramedics pronounced Hale dead of his injuries after the accident, while the driver of the farm tractor, identified as 41-year-old Juan Hernandez, was taken to the hospital with injuries of an unspecified nature or severity.
According to Google Maps, Highway 271 runs north and south through Titus County, with the scene of the accident about 4 miles south of Talco.
