Details:
On or about Saturday, September 25th, 2021, around 1:30 in the afternoon, an accident between a car and a tractor-trailer left one child dead and sent four people to the hospital. Troopers from the ASP said the accident was reported along the eastbound side of Highway 18 in Craighead County, Arkansas.
Representatives from the Arkansas State Police said one child was killed, while 30-year-old Stephanie Matthews and three other children were injured when the vehicle they were in allegedly collided with a tractor-trailer that had just entered the eastbound lanes of Highway 18. Paramedics pronounced one juvenile passenger dead, while Matthews and the other occupants were taken to a nearby hospital with unspecified injuries.
According to Google Maps, Highway 18 runs east and west through the center of Craighead County, which is about 131 miles northeast of Little Rock.
Police are still investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident.
