Details:
On or about Tuesday, September 28th, 2021, around 3:00 in the afternoon, an accident between a tractor-trailer and a car left one person dead and sent two others to the hospital. Representatives from the VSP said the accident was reported at the intersection of State Highway 8 and Childress Road in Montgomery County, Virginia.
Investigators from the area said one as-of-yet unidentified person was killed and two others were injured when a tractor-trailer allegedly struck a car, which pushed the car off the side of the road where it collided with a nearby house. Emergency responders pronounced the driver of the tractor-trailer dead at the scene, while a person in the car and a person in the house were taken to the hospital with unspecified injuries.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is a short distance north of Riner, which is about 40 miles southwest of Roanoke.
Police are still investigating the accident.
