Details:
On or about Wednesday, November 10th, 2021, around 9:00 in the morning, an accident between a passenger vehicle and a log truck claimed the life of a 17-year-old girl. Troopers from the TSP said the accident was reported along the southbound side of Highway 111 in Dunlap, Tennessee.
Deputies from the Sequatchie County Sheriff’s Office said 17-year-old Grace Eleanor Mitchell was killed when the car she was in allegedly struck the back of a log truck on Highway 111. Emergency responders pronounced Mitchell dead a short time after the accident, but it is not immediately clear if she died at the scene or after being taken to a nearby hospital. Officials did not mention any other injuries in their statement on the collision.
According to Google Maps, Highway 111 winds north and south through Dunlap, which is about 112 miles southwest of downtown Knoxville.
Officials are still investigating.
