Details:
On or about Friday, November 12th, 2021, around 4:00 in the afternoon, an accident between two tractor-trailers claimed the life of a 69-year-old man and sent a 28-year-old man to the hospital. Troopers from the KHP said the accident was reported at the intersection of County Road 3 and County Road X just outside Palco in Rooks County, Kansas.
Authorities from the area said 69-year-old Michael Towns was killed when his tractor-trailer was allegedly hit by an 18-wheeler that failed to yield at the intersection of County Road 3 and County Road X. Emergency responders pronounced Towns dead after the accident, but officials did not indicate if he died at the scene, or if he succumbed to his injuries after being taken to a nearby hospital. The 28-year-old driver of the tractor-trailer that allegedly failed to yield sustained unspecified injuries in the accident.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is about 1 mile south of Palco, which is about 296 miles west of downtown Kansas City.
