Details:
On or about Sunday, December 19th, 2021, around 12:30 in the morning, a major head-on accident with a wrong-way driver left two people dead and sent two others to the hospital. Deputies from the Harris County Sheriff’s Office said the accident was reported along the North Freeway near the exchange with Interstate 10 in Houston, Texas.
Officers from the HPD said two as-of-yet unidentified individuals were killed when a Dodge Charger allegedly struck their vehicle and another car head-on while driving the wrong direction on the roadway. Two people in one of the vehicles died, while the wrong way driver and the driver of the third vehicle were taken to the hospital with unspecified injuries stemming from the accident.
According to Google Maps, the exchange of the North Freeway and I-10 is a short distance north of downtown Houston.
Officials are still investigating the accident.
