Details:
On or about Saturday, October 24th, 2020, around 9:06 in the evening, a hayride rollover accident claimed the life of a 32-year-old woman and sent seventeen others to area hospitals. The accident happened on County Road 800 near Nauvoo, Illinois.
Deputies from Hancock County said that a 32-year-old woman was killed, while several others were injured when the John Deere pulled hayride they were on flipped into a ravine when it allegedly veered off the side of County Road 800. Multiple passengers and the driver were ejected from the hayride in the accident.
Authorities identified the driver as 41-year-old Wayne York, who was taken to the hospital along with 43-year-old Michael Davidson, 36-year-old Ashley Davidson, 41-year-old Jessica Little, and thirteen other people.
York was cited with failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident following the incident.
Google Maps shows that County Road 800 runs north and south just east of Nauvoo, which is situated about 270 miles southwest of Chicago.
Authorities are still investigating the incident.
