On or about Friday, January 14th, 2022, around 10:52 at night, an accident with an alleged drunk driver left a 17-year-old girl dead. Officers from the TPD said the accident was reported in the 2600 block of South Broadway Avenue in Tyler, Texas.
Officers from the Tyler Police Department said 17-year-old Lillian Dawn Thornburgh was killed when the pickup truck she was driving was allegedly struck by a pickup truck driven by 24-year-old Jason Charles. Paramedics rushed Thornburgh to a nearby hospital where she succumbed to her injuries several days after the accident.
Authorities have since charged Charles with intoxication manslaughter in connection with the accident.
Police are still investigating the incident.
