Details:
On or about Friday, January 21st, 2022, around 4:09 in the afternoon, an accident between a pickup truck and a heavy-duty truck left two people dead. Troopers from the MSHP said the accident was reported along Highway 50 just outside Freedom in Osage County, Missouri.
Officials from the Missouri State Highway Patrol said 22-year-old Kales Durr and 28-year-old Zachary Patchin were killed when Durr’s Ford E450 truck allegedly struck Patchin’s pickup truck head-on while attempting to pass a tractor-trailer in the oncoming lanes of the roadway. Emergency responders pronounced Patchin and Durr dead of their injuries at the scene of the accident.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is a short distance southwest of Freedom, which is about 187 miles southeast of downtown Kansas City.
Police are still investigating the accident.
