Details:
On or about Tuesday, October 27th, 2020, around 8:00 at night, an accident between two tractor-trailers and a car sent two women to the hospital. Authorities said the accident happened in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 64 at the exit for Institute, West Virginia.
State Troopers said that two as-of-yet unidentified women were injured when the car they were in allegedly swerved to avoid an 18-wheeler while merging. The car subsequently collided with two other tractor-trailers. First responders cut both women from the wreckage and transported them to the hospital for treatment.
Police closed the eastbound lanes for hours to conduct their investigation.
Looking at the scene of the accident on Google Maps shows that Interstate 64 is six lanes with a concrete barrier dividing east and westbound traffic. Institute is located about 11 miles northwest of Charleston.
State and local law enforcement responded to the scene to aid in the cleanup.
