On or about Wednesday, March 2nd, 2022, sometime in the afternoon hours, a major accident between a work truck and a pedestrian left one person dead. Representatives from the GSP said the accident was reported along Highway 27 in Floyd County, Georgia.
Authorities from the Georgia State Patrol said 29-year-old Garrett Christian was killed when he was allegedly backed over by a work truck as he was walking behind the truck along Highway 27. Emergency responders pronounced Garrett dead of his injuries a short time after the accident, but it is not presently clear if he died at the scene or if he was rushed to a nearby hospital where he succumbed to his injuries a short time after his arrival.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is a short distance from the Chattanooga County line.
