Details:
On or about Wednesday, March 2nd, 2022, around 2:00 in the afternoon, a major single-vehicle car accident left two teenagers dead. Authorities from the Department of Public Safety said the accident was reported along Main Street in Snook, Texas.
Spokespeople from the Texas DPS said an as-of-yet unidentified 17-year-old girl and a 16-year-old boy were killed when the vehicle they were in allegedly fled a traffic stop and slammed into a tree when it veered off the roadway. Paramedics pronounced two passengers dead, while the driver, identified as 18-year-old Frederick Hawkins and another passenger were rushed to a nearby hospital with unspecified injuries following the accident.
According to Google Maps, Snook is about 97 miles east of downtown Austin.
Authorities are still investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident.
